Lava Step

Seething, crimson blood

Of Earth, sediments

Into my childhood.

With eyes providing refuge

For the vision of the world,

I witness. Those domestic

Fires travel through my body

Composing a ring of allegory:

A scarlet planet resides

In my flesh – so I am unprepared

To be covered.

On maps those lavish redness

Reduce into rosebuds:

Invisibly noticeable seeds;

Burning sprouts erupt.

I grow to be a habitat of the hidden.

Here I sit,

Scrapbooking the boundaries

Of flames into my orbit.
